Wonderscope Children’s Museum of Kansas City’s mission is to spark a lifelong love of learning through the power of play. We provide fun, dynamic exhibits and programs that integrate the arts, sciences and literature for children eight and younger, their parents and teachers from across the Kansas City area. Our members and visitors today enjoy our exhibits and programs in our museum facility in Shawnee, Kan.



In consideration of public health concerns surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Wonderscope is temporarily closed.


Mondays: CLOSED 

Tuesday – Friday: 9am – 4:30pm
Last entry at 4:00pm – exhibit rooms begin closing at 4:15pm

Saturday: 9am – 5pm
Last entry at 4:30pm – exhibit rooms begin closing at 4:45pm

Sunday: 12pm – 5pm
Last entry at 4:30pm – exhibit rooms begin closing at 4:45pm

Farm to Market and ArtWorks close at 4pm  Tuesday through Friday and 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Museum closed for public visits on Monday.

Special Admission Programs

Museums for All:  $3 (With EBT/SNAP/WIC ID)
Families may visit Wonderscope for a minimal fee of $3 per person (children under age two are always free) when they present a valid EBT card or proof of SNAP/WIC benefits. Families can also visit any participating museum year-round at that museum’s reduced ticket price. Blue Star Museums: Free (With valid military ID)
Wonderscope is a proud participant in the NEA’s Blue Star Museums program. From Armed Forces Day through Labor Day, active duty and reserve, military personnel, National Guard, and Blue Star members receive free admission to Wonderscope for a total of six family members. Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America. Learn more about Blue Star Museums

Veterans Day: Free (With valid military ID)
Wonderscope offers free admission to active and retired military and their family on Veterans Day.
