Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is my child the right age for Wonderscope?

Wonderscope Children’s Museum of Kansas City is designed for children 8 and younger and their caregivers. If your child is crawling, then there are fun things for her/him to do! All the exhibits are interactive and designed to spark a lifelong love of learning through the power of play. Exhibits focus on early learning in the arts, science, math and literacy. Older children who enjoy pretend play and playing with younger children often enjoy Wonderscope as well. Contact us, and we would be happy to discuss if Wonderscope is right for your family.

2. Do adults have to pay, too?

Yes. Wonderscope CMKC is designed to be an experience for children and their caregivers to play and learn together. Young children need YOU, their adult, to get the best learning experience possible out of the exhibits. And we hope you have as much fun as they do!

3. Where do we park?

The parking lot and main entrance are located on the east side of the building. You can access them from 57th Street or Flint Street.

4. Are strollers allowed?

Yes, strollers are allowed though in some cases they must be parked in the hallway outside an exhibit’s entrance, such as our Small Wonders exhibit so our smallest visitors under the age of 2 have the opportunity to play freely.

5. Is the museum wheelchair accessible?

Yes, Wonderscope is wheelchair accessible.

6. Do you offer group discounts?

We offer group discounts for schools, day cares and summer camps visiting Wonderscope for field trips.

If you would like to reserve a field trip, please call 913-287-8888 or email Kelly Mipanyarack.

If you would like to reserve a birthday party, please call 913-287-8888 or email Kelly Mipanyarack

7. Can we eat at the museum?

You may bring a lunch and enjoy it in the Indoor Picnic Area that is available for visitors in the Wonder Gym. Soft drinks, fruit juice, water and snacks are available for purchase from a vending machine in this same space.

We also have eating areas outside in our Wonder Why garden. The Master Gardeners have created a beautiful spot for an outside picnic under the large pergola for ‘nice weather’ lunches. After your meal you can stroll through the garden!

8. Does my family need reservations to visit Wonderscope?

Reservations are only required if you want to schedule a field trip or birthday party.
